Orbitvu Subscription Policy

Effective 23 June 2026, Orbitvu moved from its earlier annual Support Plan to a subscription-based licensing model. Here's what changed, what you keep permanently, and how the plans work.

Your Fallback Version is yours to keep, always
3
Subscription tiers — PRO, BUSINESS, ENTERPRISE

The most important idea

You always keep what you paid for

The software version shipped with your hardware at purchase — your Fallback Version — is your permanent right to use. You can keep using it, or return to it, even if you never subscribe or a subscription lapses. It simply stays static while newer releases move on without it.

Without a subscription

  • You're automatically on the FREE plan (1 user).
  • Keep using your existing installed version, exactly as it is.
  • No change to your current workflow.

With an active subscription

  • Access to the latest Orbitvu Station releases and updates.
  • AI-powered tools — AI OCR, AI Retoucher, AI Masking — unlocked.
  • A monthly pool of AI credits, shared across your account.

If you let it lapse

  • Access to new builds and AI features stops.
  • Your Fallback Version freezes at whatever it was on the lapse date.
  • Resubscribing later never retroactively upgrades that frozen version.

Subscription plans

FREE — no subscription1 user · existing installed version only · no AI features
PRO — €699/year1 station seat + 1 additional user · 1,000 AI credits/month
BUSINESS — €1,500/year1 station seat + 3 additional users · 4,500 AI credits/month (1,500/user)
ENTERPRISEFor larger organisations — quoted on request

A "station seat" is the licence to operate the workstation and device itself. PRO suits single operators or solo studios; BUSINESS lets a team share one workstation across shifts, each with their own login. Subscriptions are assigned at the company account level — every device on the account shares the same plan, and subscription and legacy Support Plans can't be mixed on one account.

What's included

AI credits, cloud storage & self-service

AI features

  • AI OCR, AI Retoucher, and AI Masking run only under an active subscription.
  • Each use draws from your account's monthly AI-credit allowance.
  • Credits are pooled at the company level, not tied to individual users.

Cloud storage

  • Available in tiers: 20GB, 50GB, 100GB, 250GB, and 500GB.
  • Priced by Orbitvu at €10 per GB per year.
  • Can also be used standalone as Digital Asset Management, without a software subscription.

SUN self-service portal

  • Add extra cloud storage, AI credits, users, or station seats directly from your account.
  • No manual intervention needed for standard plans.
  • Not applicable to ENTERPRISE, which is managed on request.

Very important

How your Fallback Version behaves over time

Two worked examples show how renewal timing affects what you're permanently entitled to.

Scenario A — a late renewal

  • Year 1 ends on software version V30. You don't renew on time.
  • Two months later, you resubscribe.
  • You get the current software version under the new subscription — but your lifetime Fallback Version stays frozen at V30.

Scenario B — one renewal, then a gap

  • You renew on time at the end of Year 1 (V30), then miss the Year 2 renewal, by which point the version was V31.
  • Your lifetime Fallback Version locks in at V31 — the last version held during continuous, on-time coverage.
  • Resubscribing after any later gap still won't move that Fallback Version past V31.

The rule in short: your Fallback Version only advances while your BUSINESS subscription is continuous. Any lapse freezes it permanently at the version held on the day coverage lapsed.

One more thing

Selling your machine

If you resell a device, the new owner's Fallback Version is the installation file from your last paid Support Plan or subscription. If your plan was inactive at the time of sale, you're responsible for providing the new buyer your last active software version.

Common questions

Subscription FAQs

No. You keep using your Fallback Version — the version installed at purchase, or the last one held during continuous coverage — indefinitely and at no cost.

PRO gives one station seat plus one additional user, suited to solo operators. BUSINESS adds three additional users so a team can share one workstation across shifts, with more AI credits included.

No — subscriptions are assigned at the account level, and a single account can't mix subscription and legacy Support Plan devices.

Each plan includes a monthly AI-credit allowance, pooled across your whole account rather than assigned per user. Any authorised user can draw from the shared balance, and extra credits can be purchased via the SUN portal.

You inherit the seller's last paid Fallback Version. If their plan had already lapsed at the time of sale, they're required to pass on their last active software version to you.
